Známe se dlouho a po mnoha letech, kdy jsme se potkávali v různých sestavách, nazrál čas splnit si dávný sen – zkusit hrát autorskou hudbu jen takhle ve dvou, akusticky, čistou, obnaženou a bez obvyklého vystlání dalšími doprovodnými nástroji. I když popravdě hrajeme spíš ve třech – je tu ještě loopstation, přístroj umožňující vrstvit přes sebe stopy kontrabasu i hlasu.
Hudba ve dvou je „nahá“. Hraní v takhle komorním obsazení je intenzivní zkušenost. Přináší nám pevné mantinely dané prostým instrumentálním obsazením, ale současně i velikou svobodu. Je v tom křehkost i pevnost, protože když jsou jen dva nástroje, můžou se propojit hodně nablízko. Je to pro nás intenzivní cesta do čiré radosti ze zvuku.

We’ve known each other for a long time and after many years of meeting in different configurations, it was time to fulfil an old dream – to try playing original music just like this, acoustically, pure, naked and without the usual exposure to other accompanying instruments. Although, to be honest, we play more in three – there is also a loopstation, a device that allows us to layer double bass and voice tracks over each other.
Music in two is „naked“. Playing in such an intimate ensemble is an intense experience. It brings us tight constraints set by the simple instrumentation, but also great freedom. There is a fragility and a solidity to it, because when there are only two instruments, they can connect very closely. It’s an intense journey for us into the sheer joy of sound.
